Residents from Ebor Court enjoyed a trip to Harrogate landmark, Betty’s Tea Rooms, at RHS Harlow Carr last week. They savoured delicious cakes and teas with a beautiful view of blossoming Spring flowers in the picturesque gardens.
Even the journey there was a delight, with the driver taking the scenic route to Harrogate through North Yorkshire villages including Knaresborough and Kirk Hammerton. Our residents were treated like VIP‘s and whisked straight to their table, bypassing the queues which are a regular occurrence at the popular tea rooms.
This is the second trip to Betty’s for Ebor Court residents, and the staff ensured that they had the best table looking out to the beautiful Harlow Carr gardens. Everyone enjoyed the full afternoon tea experience, complete with sandwiches, colourful macaroons, scones and cream cakes. Resident, Ken Bramma, couldn’t finish all the mouth-watering desserts and so staff prepared a doggy bag for him to take back to Ebor Court to share with his friends. Kay Bassett, who has lived at Ebor Court for nearly a year, said that the trip was “out of this world”.
Residents at Ebor Court are already excited for their next trip, which is to the National Railway Museum in York, and we are sure that another trip to Betty’s will be on the cards in the near future!
