To all our residents, relatives and friends,
Following on from my last correspondence in regards to the vaccine roll-out, I am pleased to say that all of our residents and staff have now been offered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination. We have completed our roll-out ahead of the government deadline of the end of this month and we are one of the first large care providers to have been able to offer the vaccination to everyone who lives and works with us.
This really is testament to the teams in our homes. The amount of work that has been done behind the scenes to get to this point is phenomenal and I am so proud of our managers, care teams and everyone who has made this happen. The feedback received from the GPs and nurses who visited to administer the vaccine has been so positive across the board and all our local health professionals have been amazing - we have seen a real desire to get the job done. It has been multidisciplinary working at its best and we can’t thank them enough.
Although the vaccines are undoubtedly a huge step forward and we understand that some protection from Coronavirus is achieved around three weeks after the initial vaccination dose, we will not rest on our laurels and we continue to be as vigilant as ever in order to protect our residents. We remain fully stocked with PPE and our staff continue to carry out rapid-result Covid tests prior to each shift. Our Covid-safe visiting rooms are still the safest way for our residents to see their loved ones and these remain open by appointment only.
We will continue to update you on information regarding the administration of the second dose of the vaccine but until then, thank you for your continued support and stay safe.
