Mark Charnock, aka chef Marlon Dingle from Emmerdale, will visit Hambleton Grange care home in Thirsk for their summer fair on Saturday. Residents and staff have been preparing for the fair for weeks and have invited family, friends and local communities to enjoy the day with them.
As well as mingling with residents and guests, Mark will officially open the home’s brand new art room and test his kitchen skills against the Hambleton Grange chef. Mark who has played Woolpack cook, Marlon Dingle, for over 20 years in the soap said, “I am really looking forward to visiting Hambleton Grange in Thirsk on Saturday - it will be great to meet the residents and staff and also the local community. I have picked up a few tips from Marlon in the Woolpack kitchen so I am sure the cooking competition will be a piece of cake!”
Residents will be decorating the home with handmade Emmerdale bunting and there will be a BBQ and Pimms, stalls from local shops, a raffle, entertainment, face painting, flower arranging demonstrations and much more. This is just one event of many that the home has organised as a key part of the Thirsk community.
Nicola Clark, Lifestyle Manager at Hambleton Grange, has been organising the event: “There is such a buzz in the home – we are so excited to open the new art room and we can’t wait to see our wonderful chef in competition with Marlon! It will be a great day and good fun for everyone!”
Hambleton Grange resident, Alexandrina Price, said: “I am looking forward to the party on Saturday. It is nice that a celebrity guest is coming to our home. We hope lots of people from the local community will come along to see our beautiful home and enjoy the day with us.”
The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
