Ideal Carehomes' brand new luxury residential and dementia care home in Wetherby is bringing a raft of employment and career opportunities to the area.  Windsor Court, which is due to open early next year, will employ nearly 50 people once it is fully staffed and will provide exciting and fulfilling roles for people who are both experienced in the care industry and those looking to begin their care career.

Construction began on the two floor 66 bed home by LNT Care Developments earlier this year and locals have watched the home on Sandbeck Way emerge throughout this time.  Home Manager, Paula Mountjoy, is overseeing all recruitment including Deputy Managers, Care Assistants, the Kitchen Team, domestic,  hospitality and administration staff.  As well as recruiting, Paula is dedicated to developing Windsor Court as a key part of the local community and is seeking local groups, schools, churches and volunteers to visit the home and take part in regular activities and events with the residents.

Paula has been employed byIdeal Carehomes, who will operate Windsor Court, for nearly 8 years.  She has worked her way up from Care Assistant to Deputy Manager and she is now an experienced Home Manager.  Paula said, “It is so exciting to be with Windsor Court right from the start and to be recruiting our caring staff team.  I am extremely keen to promote care as a positive career choice with plenty of progression for the right people.  I am regularly visiting our new home to keep an eye on the progress and I have actually been inside for the first time this week which was brilliant!  We will have an amazing building to work in so once I have my full staff team, everything will be in place to provide a great place to live for our future residents.”

Ideal Carehomes’ Head of HR, Sarah Colling, is assisting Paula with recruitment.  She said, “We are really looking forward to meeting the people of Wetherby and beyond and helping them to find a rewarding new role.  The benefits of working in care are huge and people also find that the working hours fit well around their personal life.  Paula and I are committed to recruiting and retaining the very best team for Windsor Court and if our staff are keen to progress, we will help them – Paula is a great example of this.”

Sarah Clark, who works as a Care Assistant for another Ideal home said,“Working for Ideal Carehomes is everything I thought it would be and more. The focus is person-centred care - helping people to care for themselves and me being able to care for them. There are not many jobs you can say you look forward to going to and when I leave, I feel like I have made a difference.”

Windsor Court staff will complete an intensive induction programme and they will have access to the most supportive and advanced care technology to ensure the best working environment for them and the best home for their residents.  Paula continued,“Windsor Court is more than just a care home.  It is a lifestyle choice for our future residents.  People have a preconceived view of what a care home will be like and Windsor Court just blows that out of the water.  Now I have been inside the home, I have got a real feel for the large and welcoming reception area, all the fantastic light and airy social spaces and the luxurious en-suite bedrooms.  We can’t wait to show everyone our new home.”

Ideal Carehomes  offers high quality care to older people in purpose-built homes.  Residents live at the luxury homes on an inclusive fee basis, enjoying the modern facilities and activities without the worry of additional costs.  Windsor Court will be holding an open day in January 2019 where local residents can come along to meet the staff team and have a look round the home’s state-of-the-art facilities.
