Staff from Hambleton Grange care home in Thirsk have been out and about in the community spreading festive cheer this week. Care Manager, Nikki Higgins and Regional Director, Lisa Harding, took time out to deliver delicious cupcakes to local services to thank them for their support throughout the year.
Many Hambleton Grange residents have lived in Thirsk their whole life and continued community involvement is high on the list of priorities at the home. Nikki said, “Community spirit is hugely important at Hambleton Grange, even more so at this time of year. People sometimes assume that residents lose their community connections when they move into a care home but that really isn’t the case at with us. We have regular events where locals are invited and our residents enjoy getting out and about when they are able, whether that be to the church luncheon club or just nipping to Tesco’s. In fact, they have said they can’t wait to join us on the next cake drop!”
Nikki and Lisa extended their good tidings to the Salvation Army charity shop, the Town Hall, local butchers, greengrocers, GP surgery and health centres amongst others. The home are also planning on donating food and festive goodies to local charities in place of sending Christmas cards and they are inviting the community to various events including their Christmas party and fayre on Sunday 16thDecember at 2.30pm.
