The Sunshine Singers have been working hard to perfect their repertoire ahead of their performance at Fairway View’s summer party last week. Tracey then plans to take the group on tour, visiting other local Ideal Carehomes’ sites, including Coppice Lodge in Arnold in September.
Tracey said: “I absolutely love singing and always have a good sing-along with the residents as we go about our day. With regular requests for well-known tunes from yesteryear, I thought it was about time we launched our very own group so we can enjoy singing together regularly. The Sunshine Singers group now has 9 members, and we’ve been working really hard to get ready for our upcoming performances.
“Music and singing is an incredibly powerful reminiscence activity, and it’s wonderful to see the songs bringing back lovely memories for our residents. It not only puts a smile on the faces of those in the group, it also brings joy to other residents and guests who listen to our performances.”
Sunshine Singer, Shirley Newton, said:“We all enjoy a good sing here at Fairway View and we’ve taken it to the next level this summer. It’s been a fantastic experience being part of the Sunshine Singers so far, as we grow in confidence each week. Tracey is a fantastic singer and leader, and has really brought the group together. We are so excited to share some of our favourite songs over the coming weeks and hope our audiences get as much enjoyment out of our performance as we do. We look forward to seeing where the Sunshine Singers will go next.”
