Over 60 residents from three West Yorkshire care homes joined together earlier this month for their Jingle Ball Christmas party.
The festive party took place at Ponderosa Farm, Riverside Restaurant. The residents were greeted at the door with a glass of Baileys to get the party started. They then enjoyed a two-course meal of Yorkshire favourites, pie and peas followed by a rice pudding desert.
After the meal, the fun really began with a visit from Santa who delivered gifts and wished everybody a Merry Christmas before introducing the live entertainment for the afternoon, local singer Billy Blaze. The residents all sang along with Billy whilst some got up with the care team for a dance.
Ashworth Grange Resident, Betty Teale, said: ‘I really enjoyed myself today, it was great listening to a live band and singing along, it took me back to my youth to when we used to enjoy regular tea dances at the local hall!’.
Regional Director for Ideal Carehomes, Debbie Campey, said: ‘It is always fantastic to collaborate multiple homes into one event. It is a great opportunity for residents from other homes to meet each other and make new friends!’
Ashworth Grange provides residential and dementia care for 64 local older people. Through a varied programme of activities, highly nutritious food and inspirational spaces, the home provides residents with person-centred care, creating aspirational lifestyle choices.
