Six incredible staff members at Ashworth Grange
have been celebrating ten years of loyal service at the care home in Dewsbury.
The group join 12 other individuals marking a decade with Ideal Carehomes, totalling a combined 180 years, at the care providers other Yorkshire homes which also opened in 2010: Lydgate Lodge
in Batley and Greenacres
To thank the staff for their commitment and dedication, Ashworth Grange Home Manager, Paul Rowson, presented each of the six team members with a handmade keepsake card featuring a watercolour portrait of the home, high street shopping vouchers, a bunch of flowers and an invitation to an exclusive lunch with Ideal Carehomes’ directors that will take place once safe to do so.
The home has also created a commemorative ‘Hall of Fame’ artwork piece for the reception area to showcase the names of the long serving individuals in their team.
This year’s team marking their ten year anniversary includes, Kitchen Assistant Jean Brown, Kitchen Manager Katie Yarrow, Domestic Assistant Margaret Snelson, Care Assistant Pamela Sykes, Senior Care Assistant Ruth Davies and Cook Sarah Hunter.
Care Assistant, Pamela Sykes, said, ‘I am so proud of everything me and the team at Ashworth Grange have achieved over the past ten years. I have met some of the most remarkable people through my work, both residents and colleagues and for that I am forever grateful to my career in the care industry. It was wonderful to be part of the team from the very beginning when the home first opened in 2010.’.
Ruth Davies, Senior Care Assistant, said, ‘So much has changed in the world since my first day at Ashworth Grange, especially over the last couple of months. However, the pride I have for my work has never altered. I love working in care and honestly cannot think of another career that would be as rewarding.’
Ashworth resident, Betty Teale, said, ‘The team at Ashworth Grange are fantastic and it’s wonderful to see some of the original staff team be rewarded on their 10th anniversary. No matter what part of the home the teamwork in, they are all united by one common theme and that is that nothing it too much trouble for their residents! I am very proud of them all and I know the rest of the residents feel the same way too’.
