Residents at Newark care home, Bowbridge Court, are launching a fun ‘pampered pets’ photography contest to spread some fluffy joy around the community.
Residents are asking local people to send in pictures of their pets – the more creative the better – for the contest where first prize will walk away with a pet themed prize! So far, the home have had an overwhelming response with over 200 fun entries of cats, dogs, hamsters, turtles, parrots and even snakes and spiders being submitted via Facebook.
Pet owners who enter the competition should also include fun facts about their furry companions to help with the overall judging. The contest has seven categories including: cutest, silliest, fluffiest, most colourful, best eyes, most photogenic and best overall.
Bowbridge Court’s pet Guinea pig named Harry will also be featuring in the contest as residents hosted a mini photoshoot for their furry friends.
Bowbridge Court resident, Shelagh Elliott, said, ‘With everything that is going on in the world at the moment, I think it is fantastic that the team have come up with such a fun and creative idea to spread a little bit of joy around the community. I love animals and look forward to seeing all of the cute wet noses and hilarious shots of them covered in mud!’.
Home Manager, Claire Gordon-Rundle, who hopes that the competition will brighten up everyone’s social media feeds whilst also bring joy to the residents, said, ‘It is more important now than ever to get into the community together to spread positivity! I know that there are plenty of animal lovers in the Newark community and we think it will be a great lockdown activity to set up an at home pet photoshoot! I look forward to seeing all of the pictures!’.
The competition closes on the 4th of March, to enter, please submit your photo, with some fun facts and which category you would like to be entered in over on the Bowbridge Court Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bowbridgecourt/.
