Arnold Teachers Get Full Marks From Care Home Residents On National Teachers Day

As part of National Teachers Day, residents at Coppice Lodge care home in Nottingham, gifted a large luxury chocolate hamper to the teaching staff at Killisick Junior School to thank them for their hard work.

Residents were keen to spread a little joy as they celebrated the educators within the local community. Residents choose their favourite treats such as a box of ‘Heroes’ chocolates, along with lots of the residents’ favourite sweet treats they felt the teachers may enjoy.

Home Manager, Alex Field, was accompanied by Lifestyle Manager, Lorna Thornley, to hand over the hamper to the school. Alex said, ‘We really value our local community, and our residents love to be involved as much as they can with the local schools in the area. It was important that we recognised this day to show our appreciation for their work.

Residents composed a letter to include in the hamper, thanking the teachers for inspiring so many generations to become leaders of tomorrow.

Head Teacher, Lindsey Clark, said, ‘Thank you very much to the staff and residents at Coppice Lodge care home. It was such a sweet gesture, and the children love it when they can join in with intergenerational activities with the residents. I look forward to the residents joining us face to face once more, it would be lovely for them to attend an assembly in the future’.
