Pupils from St James’ Church of England Primary School in the heart of Wetherby have been creating posters and collecting artefacts to bury in a time capsule at brand new Wetherby care home, Windsor Court. The Head of School at St James’, Miss Beatson, and other representatives brought over 60 children to the home earlier this week to seal and bury the time capsule in the grounds on Sandbeck Way.

Staff from Hambleton Grange care home in Thirsk have been out and about in the community spreading festive cheer this week. Care Manager, Nikki Higgins and Regional Director, Lisa Harding, took time out to deliver delicious cupcakes to local services to thank them for their support throughout the year.

A dedicated care home Lifestyle Manager has fulfilled residents wishes to remember and honour fallen soldiers with a Centenary Ball. Catherine Goddard, who works with Ideal Carehomes’ Midlands homes, arranged for nearly 100 residents and their guests to attend a lavish remembrance ceremony at Stoke Rochford Hall in Grantham in November.

Wetherby’s newest care home, Windsor Court, welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Wetherby for a sneak peek of the brand new facilities last week. The 66 bed home on Sandbeck Way is coming up to completion and the Mayor marked the occasion by laying the last external ground stone on the site.
