Council chairman impressed by new luxury care home

Cadley Hill View care home, situated on Darklands Road in Swadlincote, has officially opened its doors thanks to special guest, Cllr Malcolm Gee, the chairman of South Derbyshire District Council.

Cllr Gee joined the care team and the local community to cut the ribbon at the official open day event, taking an exclusive tour of the brand new state of the art facilities which are now open to new residents.

Cadley Hill View is care provider, Ideal Carehomes, latest development and has benefitted from a £12m investment, providing all the finishing touches you would expect from a luxury care home including a plush cinema room, lavish Sky Bar with far-reaching views, a vintage tearoom complete with balcony area, hairdressing salon and airy botanical garden rooms leading onto spacious landscaped gardens.

Cllr Gee was interested to hear about the care teams’ commitment to combatting loneliness in local older people as home manager, David Godrich, explained how the dedicated Activity Co-ordinators will provide varied activities through a packed social calendar that is tailored to each resident’s interests and hobbies.

Speaking during the visit, Cllr Gee said: “Well, this care home is a breath of fresh air and pure luxury which the elder members of our community, requiring care, truly deserve.

“It’s astonishing that this site has gone from being a refuge site to this incredibly luxurious care home. I have also had the pleasure in meeting the wonderful and dedicated care team here, many of whom have extensive experience in the care sector. I was impressed to learn that David, the new home manager, started his career 23 years ago in the laundry of a care home and has worked his way up!

“I would like to thank everyone at Cadley Hill View for their warm welcome. I was thrilled to take a tour around the facilities and hope to be able to plant a commemorative tree here next year. I wish the whole team luck as they begin to welcome new residents and I look forward to being a part of the Cadley Hill journey.”

Home Manager, David Godrich, said: “We were delighted to welcome Cllr Gee to visit our beautiful home and to be able to discuss some of our key initiatives around the person-centred lifestyle delivered at Cadley Hill View.

“Our open day event was a fantastic way to meet people within the local community and we have had such an overwhelming response so far from local people. I can’t wait to support our new residents to live life to the full as part of the Cadley Hill View community!”

Cadley Hill View is a residential and dementia care home and is now welcoming new residents for short and long term placements with a unique inclusive fee to give peace of mind to residents and their families.
