As Registered Home Manager at Littleton Lodge care home, Rachel Ellis will lead the team to provide the very best person-centred care to residents.
Rachel has over 24 years of care industry experience and has worked her way up throughout her career gaining valuable skills and knowledge, achieving her Management in Health and Social Care NVQ Level 6 qualification before taking on senior management positions.
The luxurious home on Bishop Street acquired its name in homage to the infamous Littleton Colliery which closed in 1993 and Rachel is keen to speak to former colliery workers to share their stories of the site.
Rachel is committed to delivering person-centred care and supporting residents to remain independent whilst living at Littleton Lodge. She said, ‘I am so excited to join the Ideal Carehomes team and I can’t wait to open the doors to Littleton Lodge and welcome our first residents in April. No two days in care are ever the same and I still hold the same passion for my job 24 years later as I did on my first day. I feel privileged to have worked with some of the most fantastic residents throughout my career and I cannot wait to bring my experience to Littleton Lodge and begin making new and exciting memories’.
‘The recruitment process is well underway, and we have just held our assessment days with some fantastic candidates! What with our stunning building, I know that all the pieces are in place to create a wonderful home for our residents. My vision is to create a care home environment that is the heart of the local community – where everybody is welcomed with open arms and embraced for who they are’.
Once open, the dedicated care team can begin to implement Ideal Carehomes’ unique initiatives such as ‘This is Me’ which sees them dedicating time to get to know each resident and their likes and dislikes to create a completely personalised care and activities plan, tailored to their individual needs.
Ideal Carehomes Managing Director, Stacey Linn, said: ‘We are so pleased to be opening our first luxury care home in Cannock and I am very happy to welcome Rachel to the Ideal Carehomes team. She is a kind, caring and compassionate manager which is reflected in her work and she shares our ethos of putting residents at the heart of everything that happens in the home. I know Littleton Lodge will be in very capable hands’.
Littleton Lodge is a brand new 66 bed residential and dementia care home due to open next month. Rachel and the team are hosting an exclusive preview day on Saturday 17th April where local people are able to take a look around the brand new facilities and come away with complimentary refreshments and a goody bag. Once open, the home will welcome new residents for short and long term placements and has a unique inclusive fee offer to give peace of mind to residents and their families.
