Millcroft Care Home Creates 65 Jobs for Local People

Brand new luxury care home, Millcroft, is recruiting for up to 65 team members ahead of its launch later this year.

Millcroft’s name was inspired by 18th century needle mill, Forge Mill, and the upcoming home is recruiting for various positions. These include care management, care assistants and kitchen, domestic and admin staff.

The new team will complete a thorough induction period before the home opens when they will provide first-rate residential and dementia care to up to 66 residents.

The state-of-the-art home, located on Alfrick Close in Redditch, has benefitted from a £12m investment and will be provider Ideal Carehomes 32nd home.

The home boasts a lavish cinema, an airy botanical room leading onto landscaped gardens, a traditional tea room with a balcony, beauty parlour and opulent Sky Bar.

The care team will be focused on creating a welcoming and fulfilling lifestyle for the people who live at Millcroft via their round-the-clock support, regular and varied activities, healthy and nutritious food and laundry and housekeeping service.

Sarah Colling, Head of Development and Engagement and regional finalist for the Great British Care Awards, said,

It is a great time to join the Ideal Carehomes family and even to start a career in social care if you are new to the sector.

We have unique training and development initiatives through our Ideal Academy, including industry-leading training, career progression opportunities via a range of learning resources such as E-learning and specialist workshops.

Ideal Academy was founded with the idea that anyone can have a career in care. Somebody could start with us having absolutely no experience, on a starting salary of £22,000 per annum, and can very quickly be fully trained to have a career with us through our internal management course, Ideal Futures.

Sarah knows that supporting the Ideal Carehomes staff team is a key priority and has introduced a ‘Wellbeing Pathway’ to the Ideal Academy.

The pathway consists of regular mindfulness techniques, advice on nutrition, exercise, ways to reduce stress and improve health and wellbeing.

The company also celebrates their staff each year with a glitzy awards gala evening. This sees thousands of nominations from colleagues, residents and their families and friends for carers and ancillary staff who have consistently gone the extra mile to make a difference to the lives of others.

Managing Director, Stacey Linn, said:

We are very excited to be opening our second luxury care home in Redditch and are keen to hear from people living in the local community who are seeking fulfilling careers within social care. After the successful opening of our first Redditch home, Haywood Lodge on Warwick Highway, we look forward to introducing the community to Millcroft in October 2022.

‘Whilst our environments are second to none, it is our staff team who make our homes the best places to live, and who help our residents to retain their independence, whilst also supporting them to live an active lifestyle.

We are looking for people who really want to make a difference and would like to be part of the Millcroft story right from the very start.’
