Mikinda Atherton, Care Manager
Mikinda has been working within the care sector for the past 26 years and has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience throughout this time. Starting out on a youth training scheme as a school leaver Mikinda was determined to make a difference to people’s lives and has progressed through various roles to acquire her current position in Ash Tree House as Care Manager gaining numerous care qualifications throughout her career. These include NVQ levels 2,3, 4 and a diploma level 5 in health, social care and leadership as well as counselling and access to healthcare qualifications.
Ash Tree House is proud to of created a real sense of community within the home and regularly have musicians, singers and dancers visiting. On these occasions, Mikinda loves to get involved and join the residents for a dance. Her love of music was the inspiration behind the homes recent AshFest music festival. With help from Ash Tree Houses’ Lifestyle Manager Lorraine, Mikinda planned a fun-filled day of music and entertainment for residents, their family and the local community to enjoy. It was a real hit with everyone who came and Mikinda plans on introducing even more events to enrich the lives of residents living at Ash Tree House.
