MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

This statement, relating to the financial year ending 31 March 2024, is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we have taken as an organisation to assess our operations and supply chains and mitigate any risk of slavery and human trafficking.
Our Organisation and Supply Chain
Ideal Carehomes (and all other companies that fall under this organisational structure) employ around 2100 employees. Our principal business is the operational running of Residential Care Homes.
Our supply chains are principally UK based and vary in terms of categories and supplier engagement. Though we recognise that our level of influence varies across our supply chain, we’re committed to understanding and mitigating risks across all categories.
Our Policies
We encourage our employees to notify management using the whistleblowing policy regarding any concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chains at the earliest possible stage.
If there is uncertainty about whether a particular act, the treatment of workers more generally, or their working conditions within any tier of our supply chains constitutes any of the various forms of modern slavery, this should also be raised with management or through the Head of Engagement and Development.
Ideal Carehomes also operates an Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy. As part of our commitment to the Modern Slavery Act, we will review our existing policies during 2024 to identify and fill any gaps in terms of human rights standards, ethics, conduct and supplier engagement.
Our Due Diligence
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our organisation or in any of our supply chains.
We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers.
Risk Assessments
In 2024 we will update our risk assessment process to help us identify those aspects of our business that are of greatest risk of inadvertently facilitating modern slavery.
Effective Action
In our 2023 financial year we didn’t identify any instances of modern slavery in our operations or supply chain, though we acknowledge this doesn’t mean we can guarantee it doesn’t exist. We are committed to addressing any issues we find.
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we will provide training to relevant members of staff, and all Directors are kept fully briefed.
