Bicester Care Home Gardens ‘Pristine’ Thanks To Volunteers

Staff and residents from Launton Grange care home, operated by Ideal Carehomes, were recently visited by self-run group, Bicester Green Gym.

Bicester Green Gym, supported by The Conservation Volunteers, is a free group who aim to promote mental and physical fitness through working outdoors, and improving the environment.

Upon visiting Launton Grange, the group offered to do some gardening for the home, tidying the outdoor spaces ready for Ideal Carehomes’ annual gardening competition, Gardens in Bloom.

Grateful for the generous act, staff and residents at Launton Grange thanked the group with sandwiches, cakes and other refreshments. Bicester Green Gym member, Beatrice Foster, said,

‘We love coming to Launton Grange care home, and the refreshments are always fantastic! The grounds here are lovely, and it was so nice to see the residents happy once we were done.

Anna Gordon, the Care Manager at Launton Grange, said, ‘This great relationship with Bicester Green Gym means that our outdoor areas are kept looking pristine for our residents to enjoy. It also allows us to be involved with the community and we’ve formed a lovely friendship.’
