Care Home Residents Make Halloween Memories with Local School

Residents from Littleton Lodge care home in Cannock were joined by Poppyfield Primary Academy to carve the residents’ hand-picked pumpkins, ready to celebrate Pumpkin Day on Thursday 26th October.

Having picked the plumpest pumpkins at Rymans Farm in Lichfield, the residents at Littleton Lodge couldn’t wait to invite the school children to carve some spooky faces and enjoy delicious homemade treats.

77-year-old resident, Jennifer Small, said, ‘We all had a wonderful day carving the pumpkins with the little children. It was great to talk and share ideas with them. They’re all so lovely, they made my day.’

The finished pumpkins have now been displayed around Littleton Lodge, ready for the home’s community Halloween Party on Sunday 29th October.

The Home Manager at Littleton Lodge, Michelle Bywater, commented, ‘Our residents and team always enjoy visits from the children at Poppyfield Primary Academy, we hope to see them again for our spooktacular Halloween Party.

‘From 14:30, all are welcome to come along to take in live entertainment, a fantastic magic show, fun and games. We’ll have a prize for best-dressed, so make sure you’re wearing your scariest costume!’
