Newfield Lodge care home in Castleford was named a finalist in care home provider Ideal Carehomes’ annual Gardens in Bloom competition.
Gardens in Bloom aims to engage Ideal Carehomes’ teams, residents and the local community in creating wonderful outside spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Newfield Lodge was named the winner in the West Yorkshire region by the Gardens in Bloom judges, who were impressed by their ‘Reet Royal Garden’ theme. Paula said,
‘Newfield Lodge’s garden is as patriotic as it could be, with red, white and blue as far as the eye can see! The beautiful bar and BBQ area is the perfect place to sit and relax with loved ones and admire the array of flowers and garden ornaments.
‘A huge well done and congratulations to everyone who contributed to this wonderful garden!’
86-year-old resident, Joyce Paver, commented, ‘I have loved helping with the gardens. I enjoy my daily walks around our Reet Royal Garden so much, and the fact that we’re a finalist is the icing on the cake!’
Lynn Robinson, the General Manager at Newfield Lodge, added, ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be named Regional Winner of Gardens in Bloom for West Yorkshire!
‘I am so proud of our residents and staff team for how hard they have worked to make their vision a reality. Our gardens have looked the best they ever have this year and that is testament to all their efforts.’
