To all our residents, relatives and friends,
Following our last update to you regarding the Coronavirus, we are writing to let you know that we have now taken the difficult decision to temporarily close our homes to all visitors.
We understand that this will be upsetting for you and your loved ones but know that you will agree that the safeguarding and wellbeing of our residents and staff is the absolute priority. We are all working together, in line with government guidelines, to slow the spread of the infection and to shield those who are most vulnerable in our communities.
This will mean that only health professionals, emergency repairs and government bodies (in the interest of public health) will now be able to come into our homes. However, we will do everything possible to keep you in regular contact with your loved ones via phone calls, FaceTime and Skype during this period. Should there be a circumstance in which there is an exceptional need for you to visit, please contact the Home Manager and this can be discussed further.
May I take this opportunity to thank our staff and say how proud I am of every single one throughout each Ideal home. There are many examples of them going above and beyond, not just for their residents and peers, but also for the local community and above all they are key to maintaining the positive and happy atmosphere which I know is evident in each home.
Just to confirm, as covered in previous communications, our contingencies for each area of care home life are still in place and we continue to follow government guidelines and respond immediately to any further advice from the Department of Health.
We will be reviewing all our policies regularly and we will keep you updated as and when the situation changes. We believe that we can all pull together during this time in order to minimise disruption and maintain normal care home life for our residents and we value your support on this.
Thank you for your continued co-operation,
