Covid 19 - Coronavirus Update - 26th November 2020

Published: Thursday 26th November 2020

To all our residents, relatives and friends,

COVID 19 (Coronavirus) – Update

We understand how important visits from loved ones are to our residents, and our teams have been working hard to make sure that these can happen in a way that is safe for everyone.  In order to facilitate indoor visits, each home has prepared a dedicated social room which takes into account the updated government restrictions as well as Public Health England and Local Authority rules, Health and Safety and Fire regulations and our own stringent guidelines and risk assessments.

Our residents are completing a ‘My Visit Plan’ with the support of staff so that they are able to set out their wishes for upcoming visits.  At this point, we are able to permit one visitor per resident and the visits will be conducted in a ventilated room with a screen to keep our residents safe.  The room will be cleaned and sanitised between each visit and we will require visitors to wear the appropriate PPE and conduct vital safety checks prior to entry to the social room.

Your home will be in contact with you directly to let you know when visits can commence and to advise how to arrange your visit as they must be booked in advance.

Of course, you must not visit our homes if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus or are in any way unwell.  If you are unable to visit, please let us know and we can arrange a video call at your convenience.

Myself and the teams look forward to welcoming you back and are so pleased about this positive step forward in what has been a difficult year. Let me reassure you that we are viewing our social rooms as a ‘temporary measure’ and we hope that in light of more optimistic news from the government, we may be able to move even further forward soon.

Thank you for your continued cooperation, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Kind regards,

Stacey Linn
