To all our residents, relatives and friends,
As you will be aware, the government has now set out the country’s pathway for the next few months to see us safely ease out of lockdown.
It has also been announced that the guidance for visiting care homes will be updated from 8thMarch to enable each resident to have closer contact (hand-holding) with one visitor. Whilst we have seen our residents benefitting hugely from visits in our social rooms over the last few months, both mentally and physically, to be able to touch their relatives again will mean so much and we are very pleased about this positive step forward.
The new guidance is due to be available to us in the coming week and as with every new regulation we have received throughout the pandemic, we will digest the information and update our policies in line with the government recommendations whilst making sure we continue to do everything in our power to keep our residents and staff safe. As soon as we are clear on how these new visits will be facilitated, we will be in touch to update you.
As the country-wide vaccine roll-out continues, we are working with our local healthcare teams in order to coordinate the second dose throughout our homes. There has been much in the media around vaccine refusals in the care sector and we are proud that the take up amongst our staff is significantly higher than the national average.
Our visitor rooms remain open whilst the new guidance is being finalised and we look forward to seeing you soon.
